As many as 783 million people are facing hunger globally, according to the 2023 edition of the FAO’s State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World report. That equates to almost 10% of the world’s population.

As Rise Against Hunger celebrates 25 years of commitment to this mission, we are highlighting stories of real impact this year from one of our six international offices: Rise Against Hunger Africa.

For Ematokisoa, the nutritious meals he receives through ADRA Madagascar’s school feeding initiative, supported by Rise Against Hunger, help him feel full, eat a diverse diet and focus on his schoolwork.

On July 19, 700 passionate Hershey employees packaged 285,000 nutritious meals at Giant Center in Pennsylvania. And with these meals packaged, The Hershey Company also reached 2 million meals packaged since 2013.

With support from Rise Against Hunger, in-country partner Children of Vietnam distributes meals at Mira’s school with the vitamins and minerals needed for proper growth and development.
